Mr Kago K.Y Boiki is an Associate in the firm, and a valued member of the Corporate Commercial Division. He is a committed Attorney and Scholar with major focus on Special Economic Zones, Foreign Direct Investment, Labour Relations Law and Business and Human Rights.

Mr Boiki is a published scholarly author in the field of International Trade and Investment and also dabbles in Human Rights Law. His skillset is unique as he is currently the only scholar from Botswana to pursue a Master’s degree with a particular focus on Special Economic Zones and Foreign Direct Investment Attraction a particularly new field of law in Botswana with very limited skilled human capital. Having received some of his tutelage from various International entities and professionals, whilst resident in South Africa he has had the opportunity to learn and observe the true nature and requirements of making Economic Zones work for an economy.

Mr Boiki’s current practice area of interest is in the field of international corporate and commercial law with a focus on labour relations, investment agreements, drafting complex commercial agreements, intellectual property rights litigation, arbitration and litigation involving corporate commercial disputes.

Bathusi Brown is the sole proprietor and managing attorney of the firm. Having amassed 10 years of experience in practice. Bathusi started his career with a short stint at the Departments of Deeds Registry before joining the Directorate of Public Prosecutions as a prosecutions counsel for over 8 years before pioneering Brown and Company Attorneys.

Experience

In his years as a prosecutor, Brown was one of the few Attorneys who was instrumental in the formative years of the Asset Forfeiture Unit. He litigated in the high profile case involving the National Petroleum Fund and other cases of national importance. Brown succeeded in recovering millions of Pula amassed from Serious Crime related Activities to the state coffers.

In his short stint in private practice, he has been involved successfully in among others, procurement litigation, out of court settlements in many cases and matrimonial cases. His other areas of expertise are criminal defense, not surprisingly so, having been on the other side of the aisle as a prosecutor, cyber-crime law, mediation and negotiation and Land Law.

Obrien Bvindi – is a Partner in the Specialised Commercial Litigation and Arbitration Department. Obrien has extensive experience in Arbitration, Dispute Resolution, Construction Law, Corporate Commercial Litigation and Insolvency law.
He has an LLB (Hons) from the University of Zimbabwe, he is admitted as an attorney of the High Court and other courts of the Republic of Botswana and is a member of the Law Society of Botswana.

He is also admitted as an attorney of the High Court and other courts of the Republic of Zimbabwe, he is an Arbitrator and a Fellow of the Botswana Institute of Arbitrator as well as an International Fellow of the Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa).

Obrien is a leading Botswana authority on the application of Value Added Tax on the execution of immovable property and in this respect argued the seminal case on this area of law which has since become known as the “Bvindi Case”
