Diba M. Diba
Biography
Diba M. Diba is a partner at Thabiso Tafila Attorneys. Diba obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Botswana in 2000. He has a wealth of experience in Corporate Law, Banking and Finance, Private Equity and Funds, Mergers and Acquisitions, Project Finance, Contract, Property and Estate Law, Industrial Relations and Employment Law, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Relationship Building, Customer Service, Dispute Resolution, Conveyancing, General Legal Advice and Litigation. He joined Thabiso Tafila Attorneys from Stanbic Bank Botswana Limited.
Experience
Diba has been practicing law for almost two decades now. Upon completion of his LLB degree, in 2000 he joined Moeletsi & Motumise Attorneys. He was admitted as an attorney, notary and conveyancer the same year. In 2004, he joined Minchin & Kelly (Botswana) until 2010 when he moved to Stanbic Bank. He was with Stanbic for seven years as the Senior Legal Manager. He spent two of those years as a Client Coverage Manager in the Corporate and Investment Bank division.

At Stanbic Bank, he served on the bank’s Management Committee (MANCO) and Credit Management Committee (Credit MANCO) and was a trustee of the Stanbic Bank Pension Fund.
He represents the Botswana Law Society in the Botswana Law Reporting Committee. The Law Reporting Committee’s main role is reporting of judgments of the superior courts in and the production of the Botswana Law Reports.
Diba is a passionate community activist. He is involved with the Maitengwe For Education initiative, a trust that aims to participate in and support the education of children from the village of Maitengwe. The group acts as an advisory body to the schools and parents in Maitengwe to encourage and promote the education of the children. He has tirelessly donated his time and skills to assist set up and register trusts for interest groups, especially the youth, to help promote their interests.
